"Girl I'm wearing this to work TODAY!"

Does your job have a dress code? Are the folk on your job obeying the Dress Code? Do you obey the Dress Code? Having recently rejoined the work force here in Washington, D.C. Once again I have spot numerous offenders of the the Wear to Work Policy. Why are we coming to work dress as if we are going to the cook out or the latest hot spot club. Four inch heels, sundresses, tank tops, tube tops, muscle shirts (men are offenders too) the list goes on and on. This article is not to point the finger and say shame shame to anyone only to ask. Do you want to be taken serious? or are you just here to and go home without any thought of advancing your self. Being a fashion design major, fashion journalist and a fashion & style-a-holic I am all for the flashy, unique, original stand out garments. But people seem to not be taking what they wear to work as serious as what they wear to that all important formal event. You wouldn't wear Hot pink pumps, with purple tassels on them paired with a pink tank top to lets' say a Business Casual event or am I talking to those who would?

How do you expect to be taken seriously with the glossiest lips on the face of the planet? Lip gloss needs to be monitored by the Human Resources Department, it's getting out of control. Ok your not a video chick, model, video vixen, video hoe or whatever they like to be called theses days so why are you at work looking as if you just go finished giving services or had the KFC New Grilled Chicken? Nasty

Shorts? Being back in the work force I'm shocked to see the wearing of Shorts ???? Thou I have seen some shorts suits??? which is still up in the air for me I mean you can put a blazer over a tube top dress and it's still a tube top dress with most of your cleavage out, and shorts are just about the same in my book you B-Hind is still out with and so are your thighs !!! And Ladies people at work do not want to see your thighs' TRUST ME those Varicose Veins are not the business and they are not your co workers business.

I'm no prude I dress fly with the best of them but I know when to wear my Michael Antonio Kilda Gold heels, and it's not to work.

Side Story: During a fire drill at my new J-O-B there was a offender of the Too-Tight-Crew sporting some shorts and a wrap top with flip flops on>? uhmmmm. These shorts were so tight it left me wondering how did she get into those things??? It must have been a struggle like David and Goliath Honey cause the seams were about to bust and when she sat down the fat from her thighs rolled up over the end of the pant leg of the shorts... Uhmmm WTH.

Are those leggings? Since when did leggings become a workplace garment not unless your a acrobate or your name is Lil Kim or Kim Kardashian shoud you be wearing leggings a tunic and gladiator sandals to work. Come on now even the Gap has a dress Code how be it bland as hell they still have a standard and leggings are not in it.



And Men..... the muscle shirts with suite jackets are not a good look we can see your nipples cause you know it's about 50 degrees inside the building, and the pointy toe shoes I don't know who said these shoes were hot for men to wear, please stop it you look ridiculous and sissy like even, even if you are a sissy it's ugly and stop rocking them with jeans and a all too dayum colorful shirt! Uhgg

Your going to work and if you are going to the Happy Hour event after work bring a change of clothes so that you can change at 4:30.

Sorry to say this and this might piss some of you off but Most of these offenders are GOVERNMENT WORKS!!!! I guess they don't have to abide by any dress code rules and it is Blatantly obvious who works for the Federal Government and Who doesn't when you get on the train in the morning. Most of you look a HOT MESS.

As a representative of your company, firm, department even though we know you do not eat sleep and breath this job atleast look like you want to keep it. When have you seen Betty "With her Boobs Out"Johnson get a promotion? While Shamika "Casual" Thompson who dresses like she cares at least 2 cents about her job see her bumped to the front office.
